Welcome back!

Twitter is an awesome tool. Sure you need to engage, post good content (tweets) and work it (baby)

You also need to build your following so that the maximum amount of people see what you are tweeting about and click through to your links.

Now when the following numbers build (and it does have to be targeted followers) there can be tremendous results in terms of traffic and sales, (yes actual cash in the bank!)

For the last 5 or 6 months a couple of friends, Tahir Shah & Matt Garrett, have been working on a new system to get you as many followers on Twitter as you need, and they are finally letting some people get the chance to use it!

This brand new system of theirs, Twittollower, will get you targeted followers for your niche and it does it all hands free, you don’t have to do a thing.

Note: The video is over 30 minutes long, but you need to watch to the end to get the link for the early bird offer, so click the link above and grab yourself a coffee, Soda or beer for while you watch…

So why does the video cover so much?

Well Matt and Tahir want you to know exactly what this system is going to do for you, so you can make an “informed” decision to get on board and start using it today!

My Twittollower Bonus.
If you decide that Twittollower is for you and can help increase traffic and sales for your business then go and check out my bonus.

Quick Video Marketing

You probably already know that video is huge! YouTube is the second biggest search engine after Google as more people plug into the video fix, it’s time if you’re not already doing so to get into video! 82% of people in the US watched an average of 9.7 hours of online video in August 2009 with consumption in the UK equally high (source *comscore)

There’s no excuse now that Flip Cameras are so affordable, editing can be done on imovie for the mac and windows movie maker, or Flip’s own software. Even with just some still images you can create near masterpieces with Animoto, or record your screen with screenr for ‘how to’ or demo videos.

As more and more businesses and web marketers start using video to promote themselves so the market gets increasingly loud so it would be really worthwhile to put some time aside to look at video as part of your overall marketing strategy, if you have not already done so.

Video sells, it connects you with your prospects and viewers so much more effectively than words and getting your personality across in your marketing is more important than ever – after all people ‘buy’ people!

Twitter provides a great opportunity for anyone wanting to work from home, for entrepreneurs and business alike. In this video I look at a Twitter Marketing model that is fairly straight forward to implement using a few fundemental tools.

Like anything Twitter is a tool, I don’t care what anyone says, and the easiest way to pull traffic into your funnel.

The Autoresponders mentioned:
Wizard Responder for those on a low budget. Aweber, one of the most popular and Attain Response. (Attain Response Review)

Google Social Media Slap Hell

Michelle Macphearson has been discussing a social media slap from Google in her latest video.

This is affecting all those sites that have all their backlinks solely from social media and bookmarking sites…and this is where all those who have put all their eggs in one basket, flogged the dead horses etc etc are probably going to cry. This isn’t a social media slap on anyone using social media, and doesn’t mean social media is dead by any stretch of the imagination.

One word: DIVERSIFY

If you have all your links from one type of site it will be a problem, always combine the solid old school seo stuff: articles, press releases, remote content as well as the new: social media sites, video and vary the content you post on them.

Actually a great combination is Social Media Press Releases, how’s that for combination of old and new!

Social Media Press Releases include video, pocasts and all the functions of a blog. One idea worth looking at if you want to avoid the high prices involved with social media press releases is link from your normal press releases on the wires to a specialized multi-media newsroom section on your blog which acts like a social media press release. This would give you a lot more SEO benefit as well.

Why Podcast for your Business?

February 9, 2009 by jerry

As the new media age immerses us across a multi-media online experience, marketing has almost completely re-emerged, evolving successfully through the virtual tools at its disposal.  None has been more effective in marketing success than the art of podcasting to promote and brand your name in an ever-growing marketplace.

The future direction of podcasting was summed up in a recent interview I did with Scott Paton, a podcaster at Internet Marketing Unleashed for my upcoming product New New Media World where he talked about a divorce between PC’s and the Internet – meaning we now longer need a PC to access the net with our mp3 players, iphones and other PDA devices.

While it is important to integrate new technology to keep your business ahead of the competition, it is necessary to understand how your business will be affected by technology such as the podcasting phenomenon and equally important to ensure that your business is ready to join the podcasting marketing revolution.

Podcasting is an extremely powerful business solution enabling businesses to harness the new technologies now coming to the fore – interfaces such as TiVo and DVR.  Today’s society is ripe for immediate information at exactly the time they want to access it and mobile devices such as the new generations of cell phones, ipods, MP3 players and the portable games’ players which disseminate an unending supply of global information and which businesses have been very quick to take advantage of.

Marketers are benefiting greatly from providing this emerging market with instant communication and information data, with big name companies such as the Disney Corporation, American Airlines, McDonald’s already onboard, amongst a rapidly growing influx within the business sectors.

Popular though podcasting undoubtedly is – what exactly is a podcast? Without making it seem more complicated than necessary, it is basically an audio programme which can be downloaded from the internet and listened to at a person’s leisure, that is, when they have time to listen – a discipline now known as time-shifting.  A podcast can be listened to on many hand-held devices such as an MP3 player, or many of the newer generation cell phones.  The website from which a podcast can be downloaded is known generically as an RSS reader, or an aggregator.

These websites are enabled to capture a diversity of media types.  There are many aggregators around, most notably Newsgator, Bloglines, and Google Reader. Software can now be embedded into webpages which make it easier for you to access podcasts – all you have to do is visit the relevant page, and click on the icon which represents the music. This software, known as an audio helper application, enables you to play the audio podcast straight from the webpage.  One of the webpages where this can be seen in action is Wordpress.

New New Media World launches Feb 17th and gives you the complete guide to podcasting, video, social media, micro media marketing.

Expert Interview Series Shaping Up

So far so hectic!

I have been extremely busy what with my New Media Marketing project New new media world launching very soon, keeping clients happy, trying to keep my hand in with other partnership projects such as Social Traffic Manifesto and many others.

One of my plans for this year to ’sharp focus’ on fewer projects more effectively, but it doesn’t feel that way right now.

However, I have had an immense satisfaction recently of carrying out some Interviews for the new new media product with some very professional and successful entrepeneurs.

Listen to Samples:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

New new media focuses on the synergy of new media: blogging, podcasting, social media, video marketing and micro blogging…yes a vast subject, but my aim was to provide an simple guide that will benefit newbies and veterans alike with in-depth tips and strategies, supporting material such as video tutorials and a 10 day plan to follow.

I had an idea a while ago to enhance it with audio interviews but didn’t do anything about it. A recent decision to take some action and get things moving on it has resulted in a flurry of activity such as getting the ebook finished, setting up the membership area and then taking the Richard Branson approach of ’screw it-let’s do it’ and going for the interviews despite my being unsure about doing it.

Mainly using Skype and Pamela – which so far has been excellent. The only problem has been skype dropping a few times so that has added a bit of editing into the schedule.

First up for grilling was Maria Reyes McDavis, an expert in Social Media who has consulted fortune 100 companies, is a highly sought after speaker and trainer and is working on an upcoming book on what companies can learn from human behaviour for their social media marketing.

Then I interviewed Scott Paton of the Internet Marketing Unleashed podcast about the power of podcasting. He’s on a mission to get everyone podcasting and revealed some great tips and outlined an exciting vision on how he sees the Internet shaping up in the coming years and the opportunities opening up from that. He also interviewed me on my project which was great (but nerve racking :-)

Gavin Allinson of outsourcersblueprint covered how to effectively use outsourcing to grow your business. This is a powerful element if you are looking for expanded growth.

I also got the pleasure of interviewing Yaro Starak, the very successful entrepeneur
who has made a great success from blogging. Yaro talked openly on his 6 figure success formula which  got my brain completely buzzing!

This element of the product is really taking a life of its’ own and there are more interviews to be added! The experience has been amazing – not just getting powerful information but the opportunity to make contacts with people who are so successful.

I’ll blog more here on the different subjects and key points raised in all of them but sure to look out for new new media world on Feb 17th :-)

Automating your Social Media Presence

Publishing your content onto a blog and the power of RSS that comes with it gives you the opportunity to syndicate out to your social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Friendfeed.

Wordpress Plug ins such as tweet my blog and twitter tools will notify your Twitter feed when you publish new blog posts. Following that you want to install a couple of applications in Facebook.  Just click on the link and install. (You will need to be logged into facebook)
Stumble Upon
Friendfeed
Twitter

Now then, there is another way - Ping.fm gives you the ability to do update all your social media site profiles from one dashboard. There’s a large selection here including facebook, myspace, mashable, twitter, friendfeed and a lot more. This is their Facebook Application..Ping.fm

So your blog post is published which informs Twitter, which in turn tells Friendfeed and a host of other services rippling outwards. You may get instances of double messages here and there, I had this on Facebook because Friendfeed was posting on there as well as Twitter (which was also on my friend feed)..more confusing than it sounds…trust me.

I have friendfeed and twitter set up in many other social platforms including eacademy, mybloglog, various Squidoo and various other remote content sites, you can see the power in this.

With the StumbleUpon application every time you review or give the thumbs up to any web pages this will also appear on your FB feed.

In MySpace upgrade your profile to 2.0 and go to ‘more’ in the main menu and navigate to ‘apps’ – do a search in applications for the above and add those there too.

Well worth setting up if you haven’t already!

There are of course countless others that can be interwined into this syndication spiral, but please comment if you have any twists to this strategy that can be included
